I never heard anything like this. Going to a dentist and doing everything as per his advice , is always safe and sound.

The people that start these things are usually the ones that have not been to the dentist in many years and when they do go they have many problems and pain. Where I work we have been lucky to not have many of these patients. Most of our patients love coming to see us! And working here is fun, not depressing.

I don’t hate the dentist per se…It’s just everything dentists do HURTS or feels weird, or smells bad…even when numbed out the vibrations from the drill go right through you skull (to places that aren’t nearly so numb!)

-I can’t open my mouth very wide, so every time I go they have to use tools that stretch my mouth open, it hurts.
- I had many cavities as a kid, so the would also fill them in and it was unpleasant.
- I had braces (self explanatory…)
- The laser thingy they use in my mouth, makes it sore after words
- The paste you have to put in you mouth after a visit makes me vomit
- …. and the list goes on
I realize I sound very child like while stating these reasons, however I am just one of those people who had bad experiences with the dentists form day one. Even stepping into his office still makes me uneasy. Which is really sad cuz he is a nice guy, and all he is trying to do is fix my teeth. He has done and awesome job, but I am still terrified.

Frankly, people don’t hate the dentist. It is just phobia.

I don’t hate the person…I hate the experience.
I have had bad luck with dentists and have had to have very invasive work done because of mistakes made by dentists. For me it is an anxiety issue as I now have panic attacks whenever I walk into the office.

It’s the pain that I get from the treatments that are unbearable. And the taste of blood in your mouth is not such a pretty experience , is it?
